UW–Stout Drops Road Contest at UW–River Falls

River Falls, Wis. – The UW–Stout women's basketball team dropped a 66–48 decision on the road at UW–River Falls Wednesday night at Page Arena.

The Blue Devils struggled to find an offensive rhythm early as River Falls built control from the opening quarter. UW–Stout was limited to single-digit scoring in each of the first two periods, trailing 37–17 at halftime after the Falcons shot 60 percent in the second quarter.

Despite the deficit, UW–Stout showed resilience after the break. Mary Berg helped steady the offense in the third quarter, attacking the paint and getting to the free-throw line as Stout worked to chip away. The Blue Devils continued to battle in the fourth, outscoring River Falls 18–15 over the final 10 minutes, highlighted by a late three-pointer from Berg and continued defensive pressure that created transition opportunities.

Berg led UW–Stout with 16 points and six rebounds, while Brooklynn Birt added eight points off the bench. Rosella Wille pulled down a team-high nine rebounds, and Julia Rybacki contributed seven points and three steals as Stout forced 19 River Falls turnovers.

UW–Stout finished with 43 rebounds and 19 bench points but was unable to overcome shooting 26.2 percent from the field on the night.
