MEQUON – The UW-Stout men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought 1-0 decision to Concordia University Wisconsin on Sunday afternoon at Fitting Field, falling to 1-1-2 on the season. The Blue Devils outshot the Falcons 15-9 but couldn't find the back of the net despite dominating possession and chances in the second half.
Concordia struck early, just two minutes into the match when forward Huba Hajdu (1) converted a pass from Harris Burgos for his first goal of the season, giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead they would never relinquish. Goalkeeper Enrique Torres made seven saves in 53:13 of action to preserve the shutout before receiving a red card for unsporting behavior at the 53:13 mark, forcing Concordia to play the final 36:47 with 10 men. Backup Connor Fitch stepped in and added four saves to finish the clean sheet, earning the win for the Falcons (now 1-1-1).

Eddie Puglisi took the loss after 90 minutes, stopping three shots while allowing the early tally. The Blue Devils generated 15 shots, including 11 on target.
Patrick Zich led Stout with three shots, all on frame, while
Marwan Kaddah and
Logan Bergien each had two shots on target.
Isak Rollins contributed three shots.
Stout returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 10 when they travel to St. Paul, Minn. to face University of Northwestern for a 7 p.m. kick-off at Reynolds Field.
