Menomonie, Wis. (May 3, 2025) – The UW-Stout baseball team concluded its 2025 season at home Saturday afternoon, falling in both games of a doubleheader to nationally-ranked No. 27 UW-Oshkosh at Nelson Field. The Titans took game one, 16-11, and completed the sweep with a 17-3 win in the second game.
Despite the setbacks, the Blue Devils witnessed a historic milestone as senior Justin Sedin broke the UW-Stout all-time career home run record with a solo blast in game two.
Game 1: UW-Oshkosh 16, UW-Stout 11
The Titans struck early and often in the opener, scoring 11 runs in the first five innings. UW-Stout was able to make things interesting rallying for 7 runs in the bottom of the 6th, highlighted by an Austin Miller grand slam to cut the Oshkosh lead down to 13-9.
Leyten Bowers led the way for the Blue Devils reaching base in all five plate appearances, including 3 hits and 2 walks, while scoring 3 runs. Billy Jones was also able to tack on 3 runs for the Blue Devils.
Game 2: UW-Oshkosh 17, UW-Stout 3 (7 inn.)
UW-Oshkosh struck first in game two, but UW-Stout was able to answer when Justin Sedin etched his name in program history. Leading off in the bottom of the second, Sedin crushed a 1-1 pitch to deep right center field for his 31st career home run, breaking the all-time mark previously held at UW-Stout that has stood since 1995.
The Titans steady bats were able to continue producing runs, and they got a quality performance from Brett Gaynor, their starting pitcher, who completed all 7 innings of work for Oshkosh.

Justin Sedin finishes his UW-Stout career as the program's all-time home run leader with 31 career homers. He tied the record in the May 2nd game and broke it with his solo shot in game two.
