MENOMONIE, Wis. – The UW-Stout lacrosse team celebrated its senior class in style with a commanding 14-7 win over Augsburg University on Wednesday night at Nelson Field.
Prior to the game, the Blue Devils honored seniors Mai Nou Vang, Allison Zwettler, Loryn Tornell, and Abigail Todey for their contributions to the program.
Vang led the offensive outburst with a game-high six goals, pushing her season total to 36. Todey added a hat trick, and Tornell and Megan Palmer each netted a goal. Zwettler capped off the evening by scoring her first goal of the season in the closing minutes.
The Blue Devils (8-8, 4-5 WIAC) outshot the Auggies 51-24 and dominated in draw controls (18-6), with Vang and Palmer controlling the pace throughout. Riley Schulte dished out two assists, and Madeline Candline added another as Stout steadily pulled away after a 3-3 first quarter.
Goalkeeper Emilia Bullock recorded 13 saves to secure the win.
