EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (April 22, 2025) — The UW-Stout softball team picked up a big win in game one before falling in game two as they split a WIAC doubleheader at UW-Eau Claire on Tuesday evening.
Game One: UW-Stout 9, UW-Eau Claire 6
The Blue Devils racked up 17 hits to power past UW-Eau Claire in the opener. Payton Dolecki, Emma Muehlenbeck, Donna D'Addabbo, and Stephanie Kuhn all recorded three hits apiece, with Dolecki and Muehlenbeck each driving in three runs.
After falling behind 3-1, Stout scored twice in the fourth and exploded for five runs in the fifth to take control of the game. Dolecki's two-run double in the fifth tied the game, and Muehlenbeck followed with a two-RBI single to give the Blue Devils the lead for good.
Anna Blanford earned her 10th win of the season, going the distance while allowing eight hits and six runs (four earned) with five strikeouts over seven innings.
Game Two: UW-Eau Claire 15, UW-Stout 1 (5 inn.)
The Blugolds responded in the nightcap with an offensive outburst, scoring six runs in the third, three in the fourth, and six more in the fifth to end the game early via the run rule.
Stout managed just four hits, with Stephanie Kuhn driving in the lone run in the third inning. Blanford took the loss after starting game two, and UW-Stout used four pitchers total in the contest. Beck led Eau Claire with a 2-for-4 effort, including a grand slam in the fifth inning, finishing with seven RBIs.
