MENOMONIE - 63 UW-Stout senior scholar-athletes were honored Tuesday, March 25 in an awards ceremony that also recognized 197 underclass scholar-athletes in Memorial Student Center.
Those scholar-athletes honored were: Cami Bertossi, Anna Blanford, Emma Brittingham, Drew Buss, Lauren Chukel, Lexi Cole, Gillian Cummins, Casey DeBoth, Zach Dewhurst, Brandon Dick, Olivia Donohue, Jenna Driscoll, Dylan Edland, Mckayla Felton, Effie Ferguson, David Finkel, Amanda Giesen, Quintin Gonzalez, Tucker Haakonson, Parker Hagebock, Jacob Halverson, Nolan Harke, Isabel Jarosz, Carly Kauffman, Maddie Kiley, Tim Kohls, Olivia Krahn, Lyndsey Krist, Maddie Lambert, Ella Lamppa, Bennett Lecher, Brekkyn Lemmert, Allison Letcher, Elissa Lodermeier, Kaden Martin, Claire Michaelson, Emma Muehlenbeck, Anna Mutch, Hunter Neumann, Noe Perez, Marcus Peterson, Alayna Reps, Molly Rickey, Jack Roeber, Andi Romenesko, Sam Schaeffer, Drew Schneider, Justin Sedin, Macayla Thompson, Ben Tierman, Abigail Todey, Mai Nou Vang, Grace Vowell, Lexi Wagner, Abigail Weishoff, Kory Wiegert, Gabrielle Winstead, Hayden Zachgo, Hannah Zastrow, Allison Zwettler.
The UW-Stout Scholar Athlete Award is given to senior student-athletes with a cumulative 3.50 grade point average. A faculty mentor presents a medallion to be worn at graduation to the honorees during the ceremony. In addition, a large action poster of each senior Scholar-Athlete will be displayed in the Sports and Fitness Center during the upcoming year.
This is the 14th year of the UW-Stout Scholar-Athlete program, which was instituted to honor student-athletes for their commitment to academics. The program has grown from 18 senior scholar-athletes and 76 underclassmen during the first year of the program to this year's 63 senior scholar-athletes and 197 underclassmen.
Student-athlete speakers for the evening sharing some thoughts for those in attendance were seniors Hunter Neumann (men's golf) and Gillian Cummins (gymnastics).
After the fall of 2024 semester 260 student-athletes posted over a 3.50 and 80 carried a perfect 4.0 grade point average. The Blue Devil student-athletes compiled a 3.37 cumulative grade point average and for the 15
th consecutive year had a cumulative grade point average higher than the general student body.
