UW-Stout Splits Doubleheader in Pensacola

Game 1: UW-Stout 11, LeTourneau University 3
The Blue Devils opened their doubleheader with an impressive offensive display, defeating LeTourneau University 11-3 at Blue Wahoos Stadium in Pensacola, Florida. Stout wasted no time getting on the board, scoring in the first inning before exploding for four runs in the second. The offense was led by Justin Sedin, who went 4-for-6 with a home run and two RBIs, while Billy Jones added a double and five RBIs. Leyten Bowers also contributed with two hits and three RBIs.

Stout's pitching was just as strong, with Luke Carrier earning the win after throwing 6.2 innings, allowing just two earned runs on five hits while striking out three. The bullpen shut the door, as Nathan Weckop and Jackson Gugel combined to allow just one hit over the final 2.1 innings. The Blue Devils racked up 14 hits in the game and were aggressive on the bases, with three stolen bags.

Game 2: Edgewood College 12, UW-Stout 7
Despite a late rally, UW-Stout was unable to overcome an early deficit, falling 12-7 to Edgewood College in the second game of the day. Edgewood struck early with a five-run second inning and extended their lead with two runs in the third and three more in the fourth. Stout fought back with a pair of runs in the fourth and a three-run eighth inning, but it wasn't enough to complete the comeback.

Justin Sedin continued his hot hitting, going 3-for-5 with a triple, a home run, and two RBIs. Jack Redwine and Michael Pustelnik each had two hits and an RBI, while Colin Hageman and Derek Carlson drove in runs as well.

On the mound, Ryan Kelly took the loss after allowing five runs in 1.2 innings. The Stout bullpen had mixed results, as Kyler Hove provided a solid four-inning relief appearance, giving up two runs while striking out two. Edgewood racked up 13 hits, taking advantage of three Stout errors to secure the win.
