Stout Tops Hamline in Four

MENOMONIE (October 21, 2025) — The UW-Stout Blue Devils (15-7) defeated the Hamline University Pipers (7-10) in four sets (25-18, 24-26, 25-16, 25-18) on Tuesday night at Johnson Fieldhouse

UW-Stout delivered a strong, balanced offensive performance, boasting a team hitting percentage of .303 for the match while holding Hamline to just .168. The Blue Devils were particularly dominant in the opening set, hitting a blistering .314 en route to a 25-18 win.

Brooke McCune powered the offense with a match-high 20 kills while hitting .394 and adding nine digs. Emma Barton was equally dominant at the net, totaling nine kills on a .500 attack percentage to go along with five blocks and three service aces. Kyra Giffen chipped in 11 kills and two blocks, while Sloan Horgan tallied nine kills and four blocks.

Setter Lainey Todd directed the attack with 28 assists and 10 digs for her seventh double-double of the season, and Kailey Kline added four assists and 12 digs from the back row.

Stout took control early, hitting .314 in the opening set to win 25-18 before Hamline edged out a tight second set, 26-24. The Blue Devils regrouped in the third, cruising to a 25-16 victory in the third set behind strong serving and blocking, and sealed the match with a balanced 25-18 win in the fourth.

Stout finished with 10 total blocks and seven service aces, holding Hamline to a .168 hitting percentage.

The Blue Devils hit the road this weekend for a pair of WIAC matches, traveling to UW-Whitewater on Friday before taking on Augustana (Ill.) on Saturday.
