Match Recap: Women's Tennis |

Blue Devils Fall to UW-Lacrosse and Hamline University

The Blue Devils dropped a pair of dual matches this weekend, a conference affair hosting UW-Lacrosse, and a non-conference tilt in St. Paul against Hamline University

Vs. UW-Lacrosse
The Blue Devils played host to UW-Lacrosse on Saturday, September 14th. The Eagles were fresh off ending UW-Whitewater's record 102 conference dual match win streak, and were able to ride that momentum into the match against UW-Stout. The Eagles would win the conference dual 9-0, to improve to 4-0 on the season.

Vs. Hamline University
The Blue Devils traveled to St. Paul to play a non-conference match against the Pipers. The Blue Devils played a very competitive doubles point. Division III college scoring has returned to one doubles point this season. The #1 doubles team of Molly Garber and Ella Lamppa dropped a very close 4-6 match to put the Pipers within one more doubles match victory from securing the doubles point. Hamline would win the #3 doubles match 6-3 to give Hamline a 1-0 lead in the match. The #2 pairing of Odessa Barreyro and Aspen Johnson played a back and forth match, ultimately falling 5-7 after a hard-fought contest.

The Blue Devils put together some close singles matches, but weren't able to sneak out a win, resulting in a 7-0 dual match loss to Hamline. Ella Lamppa played a tight match at #2 singles. After winning the first set 6-3, Cora Anderson of Hamline was able to battle back and win the second set 7-5, and sealed the match with a 10-6 win in the third set tiebreaker.
