A late run lifted Stout to a 66-65 win over UW-Superior Monday night to extend the Blue Devils winning streak to four games. Stout took a 10-8 lead just four minutes into the game, but the lead was short lived, as Superior would lead for the remainder of the first half and take a 40-34 lead into the halftime locker room. Stout opened the second half on a 7-2 run to trail 42-41 with 16:10 left. Superior would maintain the lead until
Jacob Walczak connected from deep with 10:25 left in the second half.
Jackson Wilhelmson hit a trey with 8:39 left on the clock to give the Blue Devils a five-point lead. UWS kept it close, but another Walczak triple with 3:35 pushed the lead back up to four at 62-58.
Justin Nelson scored what ended up being the game winning basket with 40 seconds left in regulation. Superior was then awarded three free throws after being fouled on a 3-pt field goal attempt. Superior went 2-3 from the line and Stout led 66-65 with 32 seconds left. The Blue Devils missed the front end of a one-and-one free throw, so Superior had a chance to win at the buzzer, but their final attempt was swatted away with 0.4 seconds left and Stout held on for the win.
