MADISON – The University of Wisconsin Stout football team had 11 players receive 12 spots on the 2024 All-WIAC Football Team.
Luke Cool was named Co-Special Teams Player of the Year.
Earning first-team honors for the Blue Devils were
Luke Parzyck (OL),
Patrick Corcoran (All-Purpose), and
Luke Cool (K). Second-Team honors went to
Luke Mertens (OL),
Adam Moen (QB),
Patrick Corcoran (WR),
Walker Beyerl (DL),
Brooks Brewer (DB),
Richie Murphy (DB), and
Will Hammen (ST).
Raith Bauer (TE) and
Tucker Haakonson (WR) were named All-WIAC honorable mention.
Luke Cool was named Co-Special Teams Player of the Year. He leads all of Division III with 20 made field goals, a school record and most in the WIAC since the 2011 season. This season, he has made 38 PAT's and leads the league in scoring with 98 points, both are also school records. He twice tied his own school record with five field goals in a game against UW-Stevens Point and then No. 8 UW-Whitewater.
Will Hammen, a 2023 All-American long snapper, was named second-team All-WIAC. He handled all the long snapping duties in 2024 with no bad or fumbled snaps, helping his kicker set several school records.
On offense,
Patrick Corcoran was named first-team all-purpose back and second-team wide receiver. He caught 37 passes for 582 yards and eight touchdowns, including a career-long 90-yard touchdown against UW-Eau Claire. He averaged 5.8 yards per carry, 23.3 yards per kickoff return and 11.8 yards per punt return.
Quarterback
Adam Moen, in his first year as starting signal caller, led the WIAC in passing with 272.4 yards per game, which is 14
th in the nation, to earn second-team All-WIAC Honors. He was 212-340 with 22 touchdowns and just four interceptions. He was also sixth in the WIAC in rushing with 522 yards and seven touchdowns. He threw for over 300 yards in each of the last five games of the season with a career-high 353 yards against UW-Oshkosh and five touchdowns against UW-Eau Claire. He threw three or more touchdown passes in a game five times. He is seventh in the nation in total offense with 324.6 yards per game.
On the offensive line,
Luke Parzyck was named first-team offense, He started all 10 games.
Luke Mertens was named to the second team, starting all eight games played. The Stout offense averaged nearly 400 yards per game (5.9 yards per play) and 33.8 points a game.
All-WIAC honorable mentions were tight end
Raith Bauer, who started eight of ten games played. Catching a career-high 13 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Tucker Haakonson had career season, catching 45 passes for 573 yards and four touchdowns.
Defensive second-team selections were
Walker Beyerl,
Richie Murphy, and
Brooks Brewer. Beyerl, totaled 32 tackles (10 solo), with 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack. He added two quarterback hurries and recovered a fumble against No. 11 UW-River Falls. Murphy totaled 50 tackles, (29 solo) with two tackles for loss, three interceptions (second most in the WIAC), three pass breakups and a forced fumble. Brewer had the second most tackles in the WIAC with 95 (40 solo) with is 35
th in the nation. He led the league with four interceptions, had five pass breakups and 1.5 tackles for loss.
Linebacker
Nate Rewald was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
