Blue Devils Drop WIAC Openers 89-75 to UW-Stevens Point

The Blue Devils dropped the WIAC opener 89-75 Wednesday night to UWSP. The two teams battled back and forth early on with 10 ties and seven lead changes. UWSP was able to pull away just past the midway point before the Pointers built a 10-point lead. Stout was able to trim the lead to five at the half. Stout retook the lead at the 16:15 mark of the second on a Nick Jungel layup. But seven straight points allowed the Pointers to retake a six point advantage. Stout again trimmed the lead to four with five minutes left to play but the Pointers were able to close strong and pull away with a double-digit win.

• Brody Fox led the Blue Devils with 18 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
• Aidan Shore was 7-8 from the floor for 17 points. 
• Collin Vick scored 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal. 
• George Scharlau had 10 points, five assists, four rebounds a steal and block.

• Stout shot 46.3 percent from the floor (31-67) Stevens Point shot 52.9 percent (36-68).
