Blue Devils Fall 80-70 on the Road at No. 4 Whitewater

A slow start cost the Blue Devils as the dropped their third straight WIAC game 80-70 at Whitewater Saturday. Stout was 3-12 from the floor in the first quarter and trailed 23-7 after 10 minutes of play. Stout found their groove offensively in the second quarter going 11-14 to out score UWW 25-20 and trail by 11 at the half. UWW pushed the lead to 20 in the third and led 63-48 heading into the fourth. Stout tried to make a late comeback, cutting the lead to five with 1:34 remaining but UWW hit free throws down the stretch to secure the win.

• Raegan Sorensen led the Blue Devils with 18 points. 
• Amanda Giesen scored 15 points, six rebounds and five assists.
• Anna Mutchwas 6-7 for 14 points
• Lexi Wagner scored 13 points and grabbed three rebounds. 

Inside the Box Score  

• Stout shot 54.7 percent (29-53) from the field, while Whitewater was 29-58 (50 percent).
• Both teams scored 48 points in the paint. 
• Whitewater outrebounds Stout 35-24. UWW won the battle of the offensive glass 11-3 and scored 16 second chance points. 
• The teams combined for 38 turnovers.
