Blue Devil Lacrosse Falls at Beloit 15-7

THE BASICS
Score: UW-Stout 7, Beloit College 15

Location: Strong Stadium – Beloit, Wis.
 
The Blue Devil Lacrosse team fell 15-7 to Beloit College Wednesday evening. Beloit's Johanna McNair scored two of her eight goals a minute apart early in the first to give the Buccaneers from the onset. Beloit would lead 6-0 before Loryn Tornell scored her first of her career to put the Blue Devils on the board. Beloit would go up 7-1 before Tornell scored her second of the game on a feed from Halle Weinmann. 90 seconds later Weinmann was on the receiving end of pass from Mai Nou Vang to score her first goal of her career to bring the score to 7-3. Beloit would scored three goals in the final 75 seconds of the first half to lead 11-3 at halftime. Ally Crymble scored first in the third quarter. But Beloit tacked on two more to lead 13-4 heading into the fourth quarter. Ellie Gandy and Vang scored 15 seconds apart to cut the deficit to 13-6 and two minutes later Crymble scored her sixth of the year to bring Stout within six. But that was as close as the Blue Devils could get a Beloit added a couple of late goals to hang on a win 15-7.

  • Ally Crymble scored two goals on five shots. She had three ground balls, three draw controls and three caused turnovers.
  • Loryn Tornell scored two goals
  • Megan Copeland had two assists, seven draw controls and two ground balls. 
  • Johanna McNair had eight goals and an assist to lead Beloit.

The Blue Devils will be back in action on Saturday, March 25 when they travel to St. Paul, Minn. for a matchup with University of Northwestern. The game is set to start at 12 p.m. at Reynolds Field.
