BLOOMINGTON, MINN. - The Blue Devil Tennis team opened the new year with a big 8-1 win over Hamline University Friday afternoon.
Stout swept through the singles 6-0.
Lauren Couves defeated HU's Jenna Rubbelke 6-2, 7-6 in No. 1 singles. In No. 2 singles,
Ellie Becker won the third set tiebreak to defeat Ashley Pitzen 7-6, 5-7, 1-0.
Anna Kent skipped past Lynn Nguyen with a pair of 6-3 set wins in No. 3 singles. In. No. 4 singles,
Kyrstin Hanson defeated Sydney Hubbard 6-3 and 6-2.
Ashlyn Dellemann rolled to a win in No. 5 singles defeating Christine Muller 6-1, 6-0. and
Madeline Binczak beat Jenna Mahnke 6-3, 6-3 in No. 6 singles.
Stout took two oit of three doubles matches. Couves and Becker combined to defeat Pitzen and Nguyen 8-5 and
Kylie Rennie and
Ella Lamppa teamed up to beat Rubbelke and Dimian 8-7 in No. 3 doubles. Kent and Dellemann fell 7-8 in No. 2 doubles to Hubbard and Muller.
Stout will be back in action with two matches Saturday, Feb. 18 and one Sunday Feb. 19 in De Pere, Wis.
