UW-Stout 63, (RV) UW-Eau Claire 45
Record: Blue Devils (18-7, 10-4), Blugolds (18-7, 9-5)
Location: Johnson Fieldhouse - Menomonie, Wis.
Reagan Sorensen scored a game-high 20 points as the Blue Devils stormed past rival UW-Eau Claire 63-45 to win their first WIAC championship since 2007.

"This group, they just want it," head coach Hannah Iverson said. "They're not out of fight."

The teams traded baskets early in a tough physical first half. Allison Letcher converted on a 4-point play with 44 seconds left in the first quarter and Erin O'Brien scored at the buzzer to give Stout a 17-14 lead heading into the second. A quick 7-0 burst gave the Blue Devils their first double-digit lead of the game. Eau Claire responded and cut the lead to three, but the Blue Devils shut the Blugolds down for the rest of the quarter and took an 11-point advantage into the half. Stout held UWEC to just 1-10 from the beyond the arc in the first half and 27 percent from the field overall.

Reagan Sorensen scored the first four points of the third quarter as Stout methodically wore down the Blugolds to build a 20 point advantage. Lauren Arenz hit a three before the third quarter horn to give Stout a 25 point lead with 10 minutes left to play and all but seal the win. The Stout offense slowed down in the fourth and worked the clock to stifle UWEC and claim a share of the WAIC crown.
