Blue Devils fall 4-3 in Overtime at Eau Claire

Location: Hobbs Ice Arena – Eau Claire, Wis.

UW-Eau Claire scored 1:27 into overtime to come back and win the regular season finale 4-3 over the Blue Devils. Stout held three one-goal leads, but each time UWEC was able to tie it up before winning in overtime. 
Alex Stuckert netted his second goal of the season four minutes into the second period. five minutes later the Blugolds tied the game on a goal from Kyle Oleksiuk. With just under five minutes to go in the second, Brandon Connet notched his second of the year on a snipe from the face-off circle to give Stout a 2-1 advantage. 

Less than two minutes into the third Ty Readman tied the game for UWEC. Three minutes later Peyton Hart buried a pass from Cole Beckstead on the backhand to score his 15^th of the season to give Stout a 3-2 lead. with five minutes and 36 seconds left in regulation Readman scored his second of the night for the Blugolds as they rallied for the third time to draw even at three goals apiece. 

UWEC controlled possession of the puck during the overtime period with Quinn Green sneaking the puck short side to give the Blugolds the win. 

Dawson Green finished with 17 saves on 21 shots for Stout, while Max Gutjahr made 20 saves on 23 shots for the Blugolds. Both teams went 0-4 on the man advantage. 
 
Up Next
The Blue Devils will host UW-River Falls next weekend in a two-game series in the first round of the WIAC Tournament at Fanetti Community Center. The puck is set to drop at 7 p.m. both Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday Feb. 18.
