Stout sweeps Stevens Point in Season Series

Stout extends lead in fourth quarter, moves on to 71-54 win

The Basics

Score: UW-Stout 71, UW-Stevens Point 54 Record: Blue Devils (14-6, 6-3), Pointers (11-9, 3-6) Location: Johnson Fieldhouse - Menomonie, Wis.  The Blue Devils outscored the Pointers 16-7 in the fourth quarter after leading for most of the game. The Pointers led the game once, at 8-6, four minute into the game, but a dominate offense performance from the Blue Devils put them back in the lead. The two teams traded baskets for most of the game, with Stout holding the slight edge. Stout exploded in the fourth quarter, pulling away from the Pointers quickly and securing their second win over Stevens Point this season.

Top Performers 
 

  • Four Blue Devils flirted with a double-double: Raegan Sorensen, 19 points and 9 rebounds (8-10 FG, 2-2 3P), Amanda Giesen, 16 points and 7 rebounds (4-4 FG, 1-1 3P), Anna Mutch, 13 points and 8 rebounds (5-7 FG, 1-1 3P), and Haylee Yaeger, 11 points and 7 rebounds (5-14 FG, 1-3 3P).
  • Jaime Pfeifer (12) and Alexa Thomson (11) were the only Pointers to hit double digits.
