Blue Devils fall to fifth-ranked Titans in Oshkosh

OSHKOSH (February 5, 2022) - It just wasn't UW-Stout's night. 

The Blue Devils fell behind early and could never catch up as Stout lost 84-57 to fifth-ranked UW-Oshkosh Saturday at Kolf Arena.

The game was relatively tight for the first 12 minutes, but the fifth-ranked Titans took a double-digit lead , 30-19, with 7:53 remaining in the first half and could never catch up. Oshkosh held a 44-31 halftime lead and built that lead up to as much 30 points late in the game.

Stout (14-7, 5-5 WIAC) had two players in double figures - Armani Tinsley with 12 points and Lovell Wiliams with 10 points - while the Titans had four players in double digits, led by Hunter Plamann's 19 points. Cole Booth added 18 points and Levi Borchert and Eddie Muench each scored 15 points.

Oshkosh held a 40-33 advantage in rebounds with Borchert pulling down a game-high eight. Brody Fox had seven rebounds for Stout.

Stout shot 41.9 percent (26-62) from the field and the Titans shot 49.2 percent (32-65) for the game and 58.1 percent (18-31) in the first half. 

Stout recorded three 3-pointers to the Titans' 12. While the Titans were shooting, the Blue Devils were able to reject five shots, with Nick Jungel blocking two shots.

Stout will be at UW-Eau Claire, Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 7 p.m.
