WIAC Men's Basketball Tournament
MENOMONIE (February 17, 2022) - The UW-Stout women earned the second seed in the WIAC Women's Basketball Tournament (presented by Culver's) and the UW-Stout men earned the fifth seed in the men's tournament.
The Blue Devil women (13-10, 8-5 WIAC) receive a bye in the first round, Friday, Feb. 18, and the second round, Monday, Feb. 21. Stout will host a third round game, Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. and will host the highest remaining seeded team. Since the WIAC tournament began in 1999, this is the first time Stout has received a second seed.
The Blue Devil men (16-8, 7-6 WIAC) will host eighth seeded UW-Stevens Point, Friday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. in Johnson Fieldhouse. Stout defeated the Pointers twice this season, taking an 87-74 win in Stevens Point, Jan. 19, and an 88-78 win in Menomonie, Feb. 2. The winner will advance to the second round of the tournament, Tuesday, Feb. 22, at either third seeded UW-La Crosse or fourth seeded UW-Whitewater.
Stout and Stevens Point have met twice in the WIAC Tournament, with each team capturing a win. The Pointers defeated Stout, 87-72, in the second round of the 2010 tournament. Stout defeated the Pointers, 78-70, in the second round of the 2006 tournament.
Ticket Policies
1. Ticket prices for all rounds of the WIAC postseason tournament are established at a minimum of $7.00 (adults), $3.00 (students with a valid student ID), and $4.00 (senior citizens–62 and over).
2. Tickets are to be sold and required for admittance into all tournament games until the beginning of the third period.
3. Press passes are to be issued at the discretion of the host institution but should be provided only for individuals who present valid press credentials, and are subject to limitations of space.
4. WIAC regular-season or lifetime passes are valid during the tournament.
a. UW-Stout season passes are not valid.
5. Students are not permitted free or reduced admission, regardless of the campus policy.
