The Blue Devils swept Macalester in a non conference matchup. Stout started fast jumping on the Scots and taking an early 7-2 lead. Stout maintained that lead until midway through the set when Macalester clawed their way back to trail 15-14. A 6-2 response from the Blue Devils built back the five point advantage as the Blue withstood a late charge to take the set 25-22. Three straight kills by Sydney Hoverman opened up the second set and the Blue Devils never took their foot off the gas. In a flash, Stout had built a 17-2 lead en route to a 25-8 set win. Stout held the Scots to just one kill in the second. Macalester didn't go away without a fight, building leads of 6-2 and 13-8. But a 5-1 run by the Blue Devils tied the match up at 14. Six straight points by the Blue Devils and Stout took the lead for good at 22-17 and went on to sweep the match.
