OSHKOSH (September 10, 2021) - UW-Stout bounced back from a midweek non-conference loss to sweep a pair of matches at the first day of the UW-Oshkosh Polito's Invitational Friday. The Blue Devils downed Lake Forest College, 3-0, in the opener, then played their first five set match of the season, vanquishing Wisconsin Lutheran College, 3-2.
The Blue Devils (6-2) held the upper hand in the first two sets against Lake Forest, with Stout taking the first two sets, 25-16, 25-19, but the Foresters pushed the Blue Devils in the third set before Stout took a 25-23 win.
Sidney Hoverman led Stout with 12 kills.
Lexie Nelson and
Jessica Barr finished with seven kills. Barr led the Blue Devils at the service line, putting down four service aces.Â
Stout defeated Wisconsin Lutheran College, 25-22, 22-25, 22-25, 25-18, 15-7. Hoverman again led Stout with 16 kills and Nelson added 13.
Terrah Moshier had 21 digs.
Stout is slated to play Lakeland University and St. Norbert College, Saturday, Sept. 11.
