College of St. Scholastica 4, UW-Stout 1
DULUTH, Minn. (November 5, 2021) - With the score tied at 1 apiece, St. Scholastica scored two goals in the second period less than 30 seconds apart and the Saints defeated UW-Stout, 4-1, Friday at Mars Lakeview Arena.
The Saints' Tyler Hinterser scored at 16:32 in the second period and Filimon Ledenkov scored 25 seconds later to give the Saints (2-1-0) a 3-1 lead.
The Saints opened the scoring when Brent Jones scored at 11:05 of the first period.
The Blue Devils (0-3-0) came back five minutes later to scored their first short-handed goal of the season when
Dylan Rallis scored at 16:41 of the first period, getting assists from
Peyton Hart and
Joey Petronack, to tie the game at 1-1
St. Scholastica added an empty net goal at 18:35 in the third period.
The Saints outshot Stout 31-21. The Blue Devils Tyler Masternack, making his first collegiate start, turned away 27 shots. The Saints Jack Bostedt recorded 20 saves.
Rallis' shorthanded goal was Stout first shorthanded goal since Dec. 14, 2018, when
Lucas Carroll scored in a 4-1 win over Finlandia University.
Stout will be at Gustavus Adolphus College, Saturday, Nov. 6 at 7 p.m.
