Volleyball team falls to Falcons in three sets

RIVER FALLS (October 6, 2021) - While UW-Stout kept all three sets close, the Blue Devils lost a conference contest at UW-River Falls, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22, Wednesday.

Only once in the first set did the score get beyond a three point difference and the same was true in the third and deciding set. In the opening set with the score tied at 20, the Falcons went on a 5-1 run to close out the set. In set two, the Falcons took a six point, 21-15 lead, but the Blue Devils came back to as close as 22-20, before the Falcons took the final three points. 

Jessica Barr led the Blue Devils (9-8, 1-3 WIAC) with 10 kills and Sidney Hoverman had nine.

The Falcons' (11-10, 1-3 WIAC) Kameri Meredith led all scorers with 14 kills. Katie Koerper contributed 11. 

Stout returns to play Friday, Oct. 8 when they travel to St. Norbert College to play a pair of non-conference matches, one with the Green Knights and another with Rockford University.
