THIS WEEK'S MATCHES: For the only time this season, Blue Devils (13-5, 0-2 WIAC) will have two home games over the course of the week. Stout will host
UW-Superior (8-10, 2-0 UMAC), Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. and
UW-Whitewater (12-3, 2-0 WIAC), Friday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. Tuesday's match with the Yellowjackets will be Kids Night and all kids will be admitted free to the contest.

PARKING: Parking on the UW-Stout campus is restricted during the business week. For games in Johnson Fieldhouse during the week, please plan to park in Lot 29. Do not park in Lot 4, which is a reserved lot for students that live in the residence halls.
BLUE DEVILS LAST TIME OUT: The Blue Devils lost 3-1 to UW-Stevens Point, Sept. 25, then vs. Dubuque, Sept. 27. Against the Pointers, the blue Devils took the first set, but the Pointers swept the final three sets to take the conference match.

THE BLUE DEVILS IN 2019: The Blue Devils started the season off with an eight match winning streak and lost only one set during that stretch. But the honeymoon came to end for Stout when they went 1-3 at the Bethel University Tournament, Sept. 13-14, losing two five set matches and a four set match, then dropped the WIAC opener, 3-2, to UW-Platteville, Sept. 17 in Menomonie. As a team, the Blue Devils are averaging 13.25 kills per set. Sophomore
Lexie Nelson is leading the Blue Devils with 2.74 kills per set, good for seventh in the WIAC, and is averaging 4.58 assists while combining with senior
Jessica DuVal in a 6-2 formation. DuVal is averaging a team-best 5.54 assists, fifth in the WIAC. Freshman
Lydia Kneubuehl has been making her presence known in the middle, averaging 2.54 kills per set, good for 12th in the WIAC. Kneubuehl has posted double-digit kills in seven of the Blue Devils 18 matches, including a season-high 20 against Wisconsin Lutheran. Kneubuehl is ranked eighth in the WIAC in blocks, averaging 0.70 blocks, tallying seven solo and 37 block assists. The Blue Devils' all-region libero,
Steph Cannon, currently leads the conference in digs, averaging 5.85 per set, and is ranked nationally among the top 25. Cannon, who set a school career record last year in digs, currently has 1944 career digs. The Blue Devils have three players within the top 10 in the WIAC in service aces. Emily Makina and

THE BLUE DEVILS IN 2018: The Blue Devils finished the conference season in a three-way tie for third place with UW-La Crosse and UW-Stevens Point and earned the No. 4 seed in the WIAC Tournament, hosting a home tournament game for the first time since the 2004 season. |

MILESTONE MARKERS: Every time
Steph Cannon collects a dig this season, she will break her own career school record.. Last season, Cannon shot down the school career digs record, collecting 1564 digs over three seasons, topping Alicia Mizer's four-year total of 1510. Accomplishing the feat in three season, as a freshman, Cannon collected 341 digs. Injury kept her out of action the following year, but when she returned, Cannon was moved to the libero spot where she had 548 digs. She finished the 2018 season with a school record 675 digs, breaking the school record of 657 by Peyton Schultz in 2015. Twelve times last season, Cannon has had more than 25 digs in a single match. Jessica DuVal had 2770 career assists coming into the 2019 season. The three year starter had 867 assists her freshman year, 923 as a sophomore and 980 as a junior.

UW-SUPERIOR: Cami Sletta is leading the Yellowjackets' offensive attack, averaging 3.40 kills per set. Sletta has two solo blocks and 28 assisted blocks. Brylee Colligan is averaging 2.80 kills per set. Hannah Goggleye leads the Jackets on the block, recording seven solo blocks and 31 assisted blocks, averaging 0.72 per set. |

THE YELLOWJACKETS LAST TIME OUT: Superior improved to 2-0 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference with a 3-0 sweep of Martin Luther at Mertz Mortorelli Gym Sept. 28. The Yellowjackets (8-9, 2-0 UMAC) closed the day with a four-set loss to Bethel, taking the first set against the Royals, 25-21, before dropping the final three, 25-17, 25-18 and 25-22. Against the Knights, senior Brylee Colligan had her sixth double-double of the season with a match-high 13 kills and 15 digs. Colligan hit. 478 to help UWS to a .231 attack efficiency as a team. Junior Cami Sletta chipped in with 11 kills in 20 swings with three digs and two blocks. Gina Baertsch and Megan Holz combined for 30 of the team's 34 assists in the match. Baertsch collected 17. |
Game Story and Statistics
LAST TIME THEY MET: UW-Stout climbed the ladder all the way back to take a 3-2 win over UW-Superior Oct. 9, 2019. After losing the first two sets, the Blue Devils rallied back to capture the final three sets. The Yellowjackets captured the first sets, 25-22, 25-20, before Stout bounced back with a 25-21, 25-22, 15-11 win. In the fifth set, Stout recorded 13 of the 15 points with kills.

UW-WHITEWATER: The Warhawks were ranked 13th in the Sept. 24, AVCA Top 25 poll, their highest ranking this year since weighing in at No. 12 in the Sept. 3 poll. Chloe Buescher tops out the Warhawks, averaging 2.83 kills per contest, good for sixth in the WIAC. The Warhawks were picked to finish second in a WIAC preseason poll. UW-Whitewater boasts a league-best 16 regular-season titles and 16 tournament crowns. The Warhawks have received 30 bids into the NCAA Division III championship, including 26 of the last 27 sesaons. This year's team includes senior middle hitter Ashton Doll, who finished second in the conference in 2018 with 138 blocks, including a league-high 11 against University of St. Thomas (Minn.) on Oct. 5. Senior outside hitter Rachel Butterfield placed seventh in the WIAC with a .250 hitting percentage, while sophomore outside hitter Erin McNeil was ninth with a .241 hitting percentage and 299 kills. Head coach Stacy Boudreau is six victories from reaching 500 in her career. Whitewater will be at Edgewood College, Oct. 1. |

LAST TIME THEY MET: The UW-Stout volleyball team lost at UW-Whitewater Oct. 13, 2019, falling 3-0 to host Whitewater in a WIAC contest. The Warhawks captured a 25-22, 25-17, 25-16 win over the Blue Devils. Stout got eight kills from
Kennedy Strain. The Warhawks were led by Amanda Spera's match-high nine kills. Stout had three solo blocks and four block assists, while the Warhawks recorded 16 assisted blocks. The Blue Devils had the Warhawks on the ropes two years ago in Johnson Fieldhouse, the Whitewater slipped away with a 3-2 win, (23-25, 24-26, 25-20, 25-21, 16-14). The Blue Devils have not posted a win over the Warhawks since Oct. 8, 1994. |

CONFERENCE & NATIONAL POLLS: The Blue Devils were picked to finish fifth in the WIAC this season, according to a preseason poll conducted by WIAC head coaches and sports information directors. UW-Eau Claire was projected to finish first, followed by UW-Whitewater; UW-La Crosse; UW-Stevens Point; UW-Stout; UW-Oshkosh; UW-River Falls; and UW-Platteville. |

UW-STOUT COACH MANDY TRAUTMANN: Coach
Mandy Trautmann (29-18) is in her second season as the head coach of the Blue Devils. in her first season as head coach in 2018, Trautmann led the Blue Devils to home WIAC playoff berth, the first for the Blue Devils since 2004. Trautmann took over the Blue Devils after a season as an assistant coach. Prior to coming to Stout, Trautmann was the team captain for UW-Oshkosh in 2015, a season the Titans captured the WIAC regular season championship. Trautmann was a two-time first team all-WIAC selection in 2014 and 2015, and an honorable mention choice in 2013. She was named to the all-WIAC defensive team in 2013, 2014 and 2015. (Trautmann started the season with a 16-13 overall record)
