UW-Stout 88, St. Scholastica 67
MENOMONIE (November 23, 2019) - UW-Stout outscored St. Scholastica 21-6 in the first quarter and went on to an 88-67 win over the Saints Saturday at Johnson Fieldhouse.
Emily Jacques scored eight points in the first quarter and
Courtney Crouch came off the bench to score all seven of her points before the first break. Stout ran out to as much as a 22 point lead in the second quarter. The Saints got as close as 14 points in third quarter.
Junior
Liz Oswald and freshman
Haylee Yaeger led the Blue Devils with 18 points. Oswald hit all six of her 3-point attempts. Yaeger was 8-for-10 from the floor and added a pair of three throws. Oswald's six 3-pointers made were the most by a Blue Devil since Sammy Schroeder hit six against UW-Platteville in 2011.
Jacques finished the night with 10 points. Kati Christopherson had a team season-high eight assists and
Shannan Watkins dished off six as Stout tallied a season high 23 assists.
The Saints' Kaylee Krueger led all scorers with 28 points, hitting 10-of-13 from the floor and connected on seven free throws.
Stout will host the University of Northwestern, Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the men's program. The Blue Devil men will face Bethany Lutheran College at 5 p.m.
