UW-Stout 4, St. Mary's University 1
MENOMONIE (October 19, 2019) - UW-Stout opened the 2019-20 season with an exhibition game by hosting Saint Mary's University Saturday at the Fanetti Community Center. The Blue Devils won the contest 4-1. 
The Blue Devils came out flying as it didn't take long for them to score the first goal of the exhibition season. Freshman 
Cam Olstad scored for Stout only 3:32 in the game. 
Just under two minutes after the Olstad goal, Stout's 
Evan Butcher made the game 2-0. 
Alex Bowe and 
Vladislav Sorokin both had assists on the Butcher goal. Stout held Saint Mary's and went into the first intermission up two goals. 
With a lot of back and forth skating and shots, Blue Devil's 
Logan Nelson scored to make the game 3-0. 
Raphael Gosselin and 
Connor Chambers help set up the Nelson goal. Stout's goal was the only goal in the second period. 
In the third period, Freshman Riley Jenson scored at the 4:22 mark of the period. 
Hunter Anderson and 
Noah Carson both tallied assists on the Jenson goal to give Stout the 4-0 lead. 
Saint Mary's tried fighting back as Seth Kamrass scored for the Cardinals. Owen Sikich and Tyson Liverance grabbed assists on the goal. 
The Blue Devils held off Saint Mary's to give them the 4-1 victory.

Evan Bisek got the win and had 15 saves. 
Brady Meyers also saw action and made 21 saves. 
Saint Mary's goalies combined for 24 saves. Shots were in favor of Saint Mary's 37 to Stout's 28. Both teams combined for 0-7 on the power plays. 
The Blue Devils will travel to Northfield, Minn., next Saturday, October 26 to play St. Olaf in an exhibition game. Stout's first game will be at the Fanetti Community Center on Friday, November 1.
