UW-Stout 3, Ripon College 3
RIPON (September 16, 2018) – UW-Stout scored three first period goals, Ripon College scored three second period goals and the two teams played to a 3-3 tie Sunday in a non-conference tilt on the Ripon College campus.
The Blue Devils scored two unassisted goals in the first 12 minutes of the contest as
Allison Klotz scored her first goal as a Blue Devil in the ninth minute and
Sydney Kasper scored her third goal of the season in the 12
th minute.
Caylee Boone scored her first collegiate goal in the 42
nd minute to give the Blue Devils (2-4-1) a 3-0 lead heading into intermission.
But the Red Hawks (1-3-1) matched Stout's efforts in the second half. Page Pierce and Camrie Schmitz teamed up in the 51
st minute and again in the 81
st minute to pull to within a goal. Abby Ryan scored the equalizer in the 83
rd minute.
Both teams pelted their opponent's goalie, with Ripon holding a 27-22 advantage in shots. Blue Devil goalkeeper
Claudia Anderson turned away a season-high 17 shots, while two Ripon goalies combined for 12 saves.
Stout returns to action Tuesday, Sept. 18 when they host Viterbo University at 7 p.m. at Nelson Field.
