ARDEN HILLS, Minn. (September 15, 2018) - The individual sets were certainly closer than the overall match scores reflected as UW-Stout lost a pair of matches on the second day of the Bethel University Invitational Saturday. Stout lost to St. Olaf, 3-1, and to the host school, Bethel, 3-0.
The Oles (10-1) topped the Blue Devils, 25-20, 20-25, 25-22, 25-23, and the Royals (11-2) defeated Stout, 25-22, 25-18, 25-22.
In the match with the Oles, with rare exception, the score was rarely more than a three point difference for either team. The same proved to be true in the match with Bethel.

Kara Simonson, who added a solo block.
McKylie Hoff had four block assists for the Blue Devils (5-6).

The Blue Devils return to action Tuesday, Sept. 18 when they open conference play by traveling to UW-Platteville for a 7 p.m. tilt. Stout returns to Bethel Friday, Sept. 21 to meet the Royals in a dual match.
