Crown College 101, UW-Stout 90
ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. (December 7, 2018) - Eight total players scored in double digits, as Crown College defeated UW-Stout, 101-90, Friday at Wild Athletic Center.
The Storm (6-3) put five players in double digits, led by Josh Volness with 20 points. Timothy Wendel was right behind with19. Christian Moore added 18 points, Gunnar Ledin 17, and Keegan Oyugi 16.
For the Blue Devils (4-4),
John Keefe kept up his hot streak, scoring 30 points, his third game of 30 points or more, his fifth game scoring 20 or more points and his seventh game scoring in double digits.
Jon Ciriacks returned to the Blue Devil line up after missing five games and picked right up where he left off, scoring 16 points.
Zach Dahl finished with 11 points.Â
The Storm led 46-44 at halftime, but gradually built up a double digit lead midway through the second half. The Blue Devils pulled to within 91-90 with just over two minutes left, but Crown closed out the game on a 10-0 run for the 11-point win.Â
Stout shot 47.8 percent (33-69) from the floor, 35.5 percent from beyond the arc (11-31) and 72.2 percent from the line (13-18). Crown shot 50 percent for the game (33-66), 38.1 percent from 3-point range (8-21) and a whopping 93.1 percent from the charity stripe (27-29).
Crown held a 44-30 advantage in rebounds.Â
Stout returns to action next week when they play three games across all three divisions of the NCAA. Stout will play an exhibition game at NCAA Division I UW-Green Bay, Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Division III Finlandia University, Friday, Dec. 14 and at Division II Michigan Tech University, Saturday, Dec. 15.
