SUPERIOR (October 9, 2018) - UW-Stout climbed the ladder all the way back to take a 3-2 win over UW-Superior Tuesday. After losing the first two sets, the Blue Devils rallied back to capture the final three sets.
The Yellowjackets captured the first sets, 25-22, 25-20, before Stout bounced back with a 25-21, 25-22, 15-11 win. In the fifth set, Stout recorded 13 of the 15 points with kills.
McKylie Hoff pounded out a career-best 18 kills to lead the Blue Devils (10-9). Setter
Jessica DuVal finished with 11 kills to go along with 50 assists.
Lexie Nelson continues her freshman hot streak, matching DuVal with 11 kills. Nelson has produced double-digit kills in four of the last five matches.
Amber Ripley returned to the Blue Devils line-up after missing the last two-plus weeks to injury and recorded nine kills over four sets.
Anna Hall saw her first varsity action since early in the season and had six kills.
Kennedy Strain notched eight kills, playing in only two sets.
Steph Cannon finished with 37 digs.
Emily Makina had 25 digs and Nelson 17.
Taylor Howe led the Yellowjackets (15-9) with 13 kills. Carni Sletta finished with 12 kills and Ashlee Bayer recorded 11 kills.Â
Stout returns to conference action Wednesday, Oct. 10 when they travel to UW-River Falls.Â
