Blue Devils score early, but fall in contest at Whitewater

UW-Whitewater 10, UW-Stout 3

WHITEWATER (October 20, 2018) - UW-Stout scored the first goal of the game, but that would be the only time they would lead as UW-Whitewater defeated the Blue Devils 10-3 Saturday in Whitewater.

Freshman Lindsay Penkala scored her third goal of the season in the fifth minute of the contest getting an assist by Sydney Kasper, but Whitewater (8-8-1, 2-5-0 WIAC) answered back with four goals over an 11 minute time span to jump out to a 4-1 lead before Sarah Dickmann cut the lead in half with her first goal of the season, an unassisted goal in the 25th minute.

Anna Brodjian scored twice for the Warhawks and Anna Boyd scored three consecutive goals in the opening 20 minutes of the second half for a hat trick.

Stout (2-12-1, 0-6-0 WIAC) got on the board again in the 66th minute when senior Sydney Kasper scored her sixth goal of the season and her 26th career goal, getting an assist from Dickmann.

The Warhawks outshot Stout, 33-6.  Three Stout goalies combined for 10 saves. Stout's only shots on nets were goals as two Warhawk goalies had no saves.

The Blue Devils will conclude the season Saturday, Oct. 27 when they travel to UW-Eau Claire.
