Zins has hand in both goals, but Stout tripped up by 'Jackets

SUPERIOR (January 26, 2018) - UW-Stout pulled to within one goal twice but could not break even and UW-Superior doubled up the Blue Devils, 4-2, Friday at Wessman Arena.
 
Trailing 2-0 after one period, Dylan Zins, with an assist from Conner Valesano, put Stout (5-13-2, 2-2-0 WIAC) on the board at 6:21 of the second period. The Yellowjackets made it 3-1 three minutes later on a goal by Andrew Durham.
 
In the third period, Austin Jackson made it 3-1 at 5:56 with an assist by Zins.
 
The Yellowjackets (8-10-2, 1-1-1 WIAC) got the final marker at 15:14 of the third period on a power play goal by Daniel Litchke.

Superior opened the game with two goals in the first period. Ian Ecklund scored only 1-minute, 18-seconds into the game. Durham scored his first goal of the game to make it 2-0 at the 18:08 mark of the first.

The game featured a relatively low number of shots, with the Blue Devils outshooting the Yellowjackets, 19-16. Tommi Ahlgren took the loss for the Blue Devils, making 12 saves. Cole Skinner snagged the win with 17 saves.

Stout was 0 for 4 on the power play, while Superior was 1 for 3. Stout was whistled for six penalties, Superior seven.
 
Stout will be at UW-Stevens Point, Friday, Feb. 2, then will host UW-River Falls, Saturday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m.
