MENOMONIE (April 30, 2017) - UW-Stout lost a pair of one run home games to UW-Oshkosh to close out the regular season Sunday morning at Alumni Field. The Titans took game one, 1-0, then came back to score four run in the top of the seventh to hand the Blue Devils a 4-3, heartbreaking loss.
In game one, Oshkosh scored the only run of the game in the top of the first when Emma Fionda reached on a lead off error, then eventually came home on Kaitlyn Krol's groundout.
The Blue Devils worked out of a couple of jams, holding the Titans with bases loaded in the third inning and stranded two Titan runners in the sixth.
Stout had four hits by four different players, but the Blue Devils'
Beth Wood allowed only five hits by the Titans. She struck out two. Abby Menting and Amanda McIlhaney each had two hits for the Titans.

In game two, Stout took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth.
Beth Wood reached on a walk.
Heather Bol and
Kaylee Francois hit back-to-back RBI doubles to the center field wall and Francois eventually scored on
Rachel Thomas' fielder's choice.

The Titans scored four unearned runs in the top of the seventh after two outs, tying the game on Menting's three-run, bases loaded double. Menting scored the game winning run when she came home on Krol's single to left field.
Oshkosh had eight hits to five for Stout. Emma Fionda was the only Titan to have more than one hit, going 2-for-3. Five different Blue Devils had hits.
Oshkosh (29-9, 9-5 WIAC), ranked 24
th in the latest NFCA Top 25 poll, earned the third seed in the WIAC tournament set for May 5-7 at UW-Whitewater. Stout (16-22, 5-9 WIAC) is the fifth seed in the tournament.
Stout will play fourth seeded UW-Eau Claire, Friday at 10 a.m., while Oshkosh will play second seeded UW-La Crosse at noon.
