WHITEWATER (April 14, 2017) –
Tim Bott had his biggest offensive day as a member of the UW-Stout baseball team, hitting a three run home run in a 5-3 10 inning opening game loss, then adding another to drive in Stout's only run in an 11-1 second game loss at UW-Whitewater Friday.

In the opener, the Blue Devils (6-17, 3-5 WIAC) did not trail the second ranked Warhawks (20-3, 8-0 WIAC) until the 10
th inning.

Stout jumped out ahead with a three-run second inning.Â
Joel Hollow reached with a one-out single, then moved on designated hitter
Derek Graves' center field single. A fielder's choice advanced Hollow to third, but all runners came home on catcher
Tim Bott's second collegiate home run, a shot to left field.

Blue Devil starter
Tyler Christensen was cruising along, allowing only one hit over the first three inning. But the Warhawks got to Christensen in the fourth inning as Jordan Kuczynski doubled home a run and Daytona Bryden hit a sacrifice fly to score a second run.

Neither team was able to muster any offense until Whitewater scored a single run in the seventh inning to tie the game.

Stout stranded two runners in each of the seventh and ninth innings. The Warhawks took the game in the 10
th inning on a two run home run by Blake Fleischman to left field.

The Blue Devils got the potential tying runs on base in the bottom of the 10
th, but could not get either across the plate.

The Blue Devils outhit the Warhawks, 11-7, with Hollow going 3-for-5 and
Jon Krueger and Graves each going 2-for-4. Â Bott finished with a career-best three RBI in a single game.

Reliever
Casey Ryan came on in the eighth inning and absorbed the loss, allowing two earned runs. Christensen allowed three earned runs.

In the nightcap, the Warhawks jumped to a 3-0 lead with three runs in the third inning. Stout got one run back in the when Bott recorded his fourth RBI of the afternoon, this time lacing a single to left center to score
Jared Jarvensivu, who reached base after getting hit by a pitch and moved on an errant pickoff attempt.

The Warhawks added two more runs in the seventh to take a 5-1 lead, then one-upped the feat with three runs in the eighth for an 8-1 lead and added to the lead again in the top of the ninth with three runs.
Brett Krause was 3-for-4 with three RBI and Kuczynski was 3-for-3 with two RBI.
The Blue Devils will return to action Monday, April 17 when they travel to Macalester College for a single nine-inning game.
