A LOOK AT THE BLUE DEVILS
- John Keefe leads the Blue Devils in five separate categories, including: points per game (15.5), rebounds per game (6.3), assists per game (4.8), and minutes per game (35.6).
- John Lahti has increased his scoring in the last three games, scoring in double-digits each game, making him the second leading scorer on the team with 9.7 points per contest.
- Jacob Nordstrom is 11th in the league in rebounds (4.7), while Lahti is 18th (4.0). The pair are in the top 10 in the league in blocked shots, with Nordstrom second (0.95) and Lahti eighth (0.81).
- The Blue Devils are averaging 70.8 points and giving up 72.7 points.
- With 416 NCAA Division III teams, Stout is ranked 25th in turnovers per game (11.0).

BLUE DEVILS LAST TIME OUT
- UW-Stout stayed with seventh ranked UW-River Falls through the first half, but were overpowered in the second half to fall 92-51. The Blue Devils were led by John Lahti and John Keefe, who scored 11 and nine points. Keefe also grabbed four rebounds and dished four assists.
- River Falls stepped on the gas to open the second half on a 14-0 run. Stout could not find a way back, and eventually fell.

- The Blue Devils fell in their last two games, first to Eau Claire 95-91 at Johnson Fieldhouse, and then on the road to Whitewater 83-48.Â
- In the game against Eau Claire, Stout broke a 17 year old record, as they shot 65.4 percent from the field. The previous record was 64.0 percent dated to 2000, and tied in 2014.
- John Lahti scored 16 points, had eight rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots for UW-Stout, but the Blue Devils were defeated by UW-Whitewater, 83-48, Saturday in Kachel Gymnasium. Lahti scored nine points in the first and had four rebounds as UW-Stout trailed 38-24 at halftime to the 21st ranked Warhawks.
CAREER BESTS
- The Blue Devils have tallied a number of individual team best scoring this year.
- John Keefe went off for 32 points against Superior
- Cory Speer lit up Buena Vista for 31.
- Sam Ortmann scored a best 14 points against Buena Vista, then topped that with a 16 points effort against Bethany Lutheran.
- Keegan Dickson scored 20 points and Jacob Nordstrom has matched a career high by scoring 10 three times this season.
- Isaac Elliot tallied 19 points against Robert Morris, 17 in the first half.
- John Lahti opened the season with a career-best 17 points against UM-Crookston.
- Sophomore transfer Braden Walbeck ran his career-best up the ladder throughout the season and scored 17 against Dubuque.
- The 95 team points scored by Stout against UW-Superior was the most by a Blue Devil team since downing Bethel University 95-60, to open the 2010-11 season.
THE WIAC
- While the WIAC is always competitive, could the WIAC be stronger this year than in the past? If the non-conference records from the last two years have anything to say about it, that could prove true.
- Last season, the eight WIAC teams had a combined 52-36 non-conference record (not counting post season games). This year, the non-conference record is 68-19. Six of the eight schools have an improved record heading into the conference schedule.
- Stevens Point is the only team to have fewer wins than last year, while Oshkosh has matched their record from a year ago at this point.
- In the latest D3hoops.com Top 25 poll, River Falls is ranked at no. 5, followed by Eau Claire at no. 10 and Whitewater rounding out the Top 25 at no. 25.
- In the WIAC preseason poll, Oshkosh was picked to finish first, followed by La Crosse, Whitewater, Eau Claire, River Falls, Stevens Point, Platteville and Stout.

SCOUTING UW-RIVER FALLS
- Before Saturday's loss to UW-Oshkosh, the last time UW-River Falls lost was in Johnson Fieldhouse. The Falcons played in the UW-Stout Tip-Off Tournament way back in November and lost to then nationally-ranked Hope College, 90-81, in a game that made many a local college observers take notice.
- Â Previous to that weekend, the Falcons opened the season by defeating defending national champion St. Thomas, 74-65, on the Tommies floor. The Falcons also defeated NCAA Division II Minnesota-Duluth, 97-93, in an early season exhibition game.
- The Falcons were No. 4 in the D3hoops.com Top 25 before their loss to Oshkosh, falling to No. 7 this week.
- Alex Herink leads the team in scoring and is second in the WIAC, averaging 16.1 points. Garret Pearson is averaging 13.2 points and together with Herink, lead the team in rebounds. Pearson is pulling down 5.9 boards and Herink 5.7. Devin Buckley is averaging 10.8 points. Grant Erickson trails only Stout's Keefe in assists, averaging 4.5. The Falcons are averaging 77.0 points and give up 64.8.

FALCONS LAST TIME OUT
- The Falcons lost to UW-Oshkosh, snapping a 17-game winning streak.
- It took the Falcons' worst shooting night of the season to earn their first WIAC loss. The Falcons shot 19-53 (35.8 percent) from the field.
- The Falcons did not make a field goal in the final 7:54 in the first half.
- Down the stretch, the Falcons matched every shot the Titans made, and with 48 seconds remaining, the game was tied at 60. Brett Wittchow connected on a layup for the Titans on the next possession, and Grant Erickson couldn't make his layup, and the Titans made enough free throws to escape with the victory.
- Clay Seifert scored a team-high 16 points on 6-8 shooting, he made both of his three pointers, and both of his free throw attempts. Garret Pearson finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds, his second double-double this season. Devin Buckley scored eight points, he made all four of his free thows.

LAST TIME STOUT AND RIVER FALLS MET
- Stout was outsted by the Falcons in their last meeting in River Falls.
- Stout lost 70-58, after River Falls opened a 9-2 run at the beginning of the second half to keep the lead.
- UW-Stout trailed 28-27 at halftime, but UW-River Falls went on a two-minute, 9-2 run around the 13 minute mark of the second half and went on to hand the Blue Devils a 70-58 loss Jan. 25 at Karges Center.
- The Falcons had four players in double digits, led by Alex Herink's double-double. Herink dropped in 16 points and had 10 rebounds. Grant Erickson, Devin Buckley and Garret Pearson each had 10 points.
- John Keefe and John Lahti each scored 14 points in the game for the Blue Devils.

SCOUTING UW-STEVENS POINT
- Even though the Pointers are unable to make the post season this year, are still fighting and getting conference wins against quality opponents.
- Ethan Bublitz leads the Pointers with 14.7 points per contest as well as off glass (4.3). Bryce Williams comes off the bench to average 10.7 points. MJ Delmore is averaging 10.1 points.Â
- The Pointers are averaging 70.0Â points and giving up 66.1.
- On the season, they have swept Eau Claire and took a win against Oshkosh on the road.

POINTERS LAST TIME OUT
- Stevens Point men's saw its upset hopes fall short in a 56-55 home loss to visiting No. 18 UW-Whitewater (18-3, 8-3) on Wednesday night.
- Junior MJ Delmore led the Pointers with 12 points.  Sophomore Ethan Bublitz  and junior Zack Goedeke also scored in double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.  Fellow sophomore Mark Nelson went 3-for-5 from long range for nine points.
- Nelson hit twice more from behind the arc to knot the game at 55-55 entering the final minute. The Warhawks converted the second free throw with seven seconds remaining and Drew Fredrickson's last second heave came up short in a one-point loss.

- The Pointers completed the sweep against Eau Claire on the season, taking the 61-54 win at home.

LAST TIME STOUT AND STEVENS POINT MET
- Stout took an early WIAC road loss in their last meeting with Point.
- Stout recovered from a 15-point deficit midway through the second half to put themselves back into contention, but lost by three, 71-68.
- Â The Pointers held a 34-27 halftime lead, then worked their way to a 15 point, 56-41, lead at the 10:20 mark of the second half before cutting into the lead and going ahead with one-minute, 38-seconds remaining.
- The Blue Devils went on a 13-0 run to pull to within 58-54 with 5:40 left on the clock. pointerAfter the Pointer went up 62-54, Stout went on another run.
- bucket made it 62-59, then stole ball. Brett Ahsenmacher pulled Stout to within 62-61 with 2:28 remaining on a layup and John Keefe gave Stout the lead, 64-63, with 55 ticks remaining.
- The Pointers regained the lead, 64-63, on Ethan Bublitz's layup. MJ Delmore made a pair of charity shots and Bublitz drained two more to put the Pointers up 68-63 with16 seconds remaining. Ahsenmacher went to the line and made both attempts to pull Stout to within three points, 68-65. Bublitz dropped in two more free throws to stretch the lead to 70-65 with nine second left. Ahsenmacher drilled a 3-pointer to make it 70-68 with six seconds left. Delmore made one last free throw and  Isaac Elliott's desperation 3-pointer was off the mark.
- Delmore led all players with 23 points. Bryce Williams came off the Pointer bench for 13 points and Bubllitz finished with 10 points. Stout's John Keefe and Isaac Elliott scored 16 and 15 points respectively.

BLUE DEVIL HISTORY: UW-Stout, then Stout Institute, played their first game Jan. 11, 1907, hosting the University of Wisconsin at the Armory in Menomonie. The Badgers handed the Trainers a 29-19 loss.
UW-STOUT COACH EDDIE ANDRIST
- Eddie Andrist (203-228 at Stout, 453-419 overall) is in his 17th year as the coach of the Blue Devils, and his 28th overall in the collegiate ranks.
- Andrist led the Blue Devils to their first NCAA Division III appearance five seasons ago when Stout advanced to the second round.
- Andrist coached at Mount Senario for 11 seasons and won three national championships.
- Andrist spent two stints as a UW-Stout assistant, first as a student coach in the 1970s, then again during the 1980s.
- Andrist spent two stints coaching international basketball, working with the country of Qatar
UW-RIVER FALLS COACH JEFF BERKHOF
- Jeff Berkhof (143-140) has been a mainstay of the Falcon program both as a player, assistant coach and now in his 11th season as the Head Coach of the Falcons. Berkhof follows only his predecessor, Rick Bowen, in coaching victories at UW-River Falls.
- Berkhof has brought the Falcons to the forefront of Division III college basketball and the WIAC conference. During the 2015-16 season, the Falcons made their third appearance in the WIAC Conference tournament championship game in the past six seasons.  The Falcons finished with a 17-11 record and a WIAC regular season 2nd place finish.Â
UW-STEVENS POINT COACH KENT DERNBACH
- UW-Stevens Point coach Kent Dernbach is in his first year with the Pointers, taking over for Bob Semling;
- Before coming to UWSP, Dernbach was the director of basketball operations at Northern Illinois University for three years and spent the two previous seasons at George Mason University.
CONFERENCES: Stout is a member of the eight team Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) along with UW-La Crosse, UW-Eau Claire, UW-Stevens Point, UW-Oshkosh, UW-Platteville, UW-Whitewater and UW-River Falls. Oshkosh was picked to win the league, followed by La Crosse, Whitewater, Eau Claire, River Falls, Stevens Point, Platteville and Stout.
DEWEY MINTZ COURT: The basketball court in Johnson Fieldhouse was named Dewey Mintz Court, Dec. 10, in honor of 27-year Blue Devil coach Dwain Mintz, who coached the Blue Devil men's basketball team from 1962-1989. Nearly 30 years after he retired, Mintz is currently fourth on the WIAC all-time men's basketball coaches wins list with a record of 385-280.Mintz coached league contenders throughout his tenure at UW-Stout from 1963-89, including conference championships in 1966, 1969 and 1975. He was the NAIA District 14 Coach of the Year in 1966 and 1973, and NAIA Area IV Coach of the Year in 1969. During his 27 years at UW-Stout, Dewey Mintz Court is the fifth floor named among member schools in the WIAC. The others include: Bo Ryan Court at UW-Platteville; Ken Anderson Court at UW-Eau Claire; Dave "Augie" Vander Meulen Court at UW-Whitewater; and Bennett Court at UW-Stevens Point, named in honor of Dick and Jack Bennett.
