LA CROSSE (November 2, 2017) - UW-La Crosse recorded three goals within an 18-minute game time span to down UW-Stout, 3-0, in a semi-final WIAC Soccer Championship game (presented by Culver's) Thursday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The top-seeded and 15th-ranked Eagles (17-1-2) got goals from Maddie Granos in the 43rd minute, Kaitlyn Villars in the 56th minute and Margaret Harings in the 61st minute. The Eagles outshot Stout (9-6-5) by a 24-5 margin and put 11 shots on frame compared to one for the Blue Devils. The Eagles also had six corner kicks to none for Stout.
Two of Stout's five shots were taken by defender Nikki Sedivy, who also put the only shot on net for the Blue Devils.
Stout's Lynn Johnson stopped eight shots, while the Eagles' Lily Brock made one save and shared the shutout with Kennedy Brault. Johnson finished her sophomore season with a 7-5-4 overall record.
The Eagles will host UW-Whitewater Saturday, Nov. 4 in the championship game. The second-seeded Warhawks defeated UW-Oshkosh, 3-1.
