Blue Devils toppled by St. Scholastica in OT

St. Scholastica 2, UW-Stout 1 (OT)

MOORHEAD, Minn. (September 3, 2016) - UW-Stout scored early, but St. Scholastica scored the equalizer 10 minutes later and eventually scored the game winning goal into overtime to down the Blue Devils, 2-1, in the season opener for both teams Friday on the campus of Concordia-Moorhead.
 
The Blue Devils' Sydney Kasper (So, Owatonna, Minn) opened up the scoring in the 10th minute, on a through ball from Sami Stark (So, Eagle). The Saints' Becca Rancour evened the score 10 minutes later.
 
St. Scholastica's Taylor Olson scored three minutes into the overtime period to lift the Saints.
 
The Blue Devils' outshot the Saints, 10-8. Lynn Johnson, making her collegiate debut in goal, recorded five saves for the Blue Devils. Roni Rudolph had four saves for the Saints.
 
Stout will meet host Concordia,  Saturday, Sept. 3 at 5 p.m
