MENOMONIE (May 9, 2016) - UW-Stout senior
Patrick Gullickson allowed one unearned run and went five innings, striking out four as UW-Stout ended the season on a winning note with a 6-1 second game win over Macalester College. The Scots won the first game, 3-1.
Jon Krueger had two RBI and
Noah Brown and
Austin Littmann were 2-for-3 in the win for the Blue Devils (15-24). The Scots' Ben Castagnetti was 2-for-4 and Jared Abelson and Graham Low each had two hits.
The Blue Devils scored three runs in both the first and second innings. Krueger scored one run when his sacrifice fly was misplayed.
Ryan Connor drove in a run and
Taran Tierney, who was 3-for-5 on the day, sliced an RBI single to center field.
The Scots got one back in the second before Stout added three more in the bottom of the inning. Krueger brought in a run with the bases loaded when he was hit by a pitch.
Hunter Dicus drew a bases loaded walk, as did Tierney.

In the opener, the Scots' Cole Chang went six innings, allowing one earned run for the win. Low was 3-for-3 for the Scots (17-18) with two RBI.
Stout drew first blood when
Brady Burzynski opened the game with a single through the right side, then moved to second on
Josh Halling's ground out.
Noah Brown walked on a wild pitch, moving Burzynski to third.
Derek Graves' single to left field plated Burzynski.
The Scots tied the game in the second, then took the lead in the fourth and added an insurance run in the seventh.
Brady Burzynski was 2-for-2 with a stolen base to run his stolen base totals to a Stout all-time best 48 career stolen bases.Â
Hunter Dicus was 3-for-3 for Stout and
Taran Tierney was 2-for-3.
Low drove in a pair of runs for Macalester and went 3-for-3 in the contest.
