MENOMONIE (November 22, 2016) - UW-Stout had a field day with five players scoring in double figures as the Blue Devils routed former WIAC foe UW-Suoerior, 95-60, Tuesday at Dewey Mintz Court in Johnson Fieldhouse.

With the exception of the first few minutes of play, the Blue Devils (3-1) never trailed as John Keefe led Stout with a career-best 32 points. Keefe hit 13-of-23 shots from the floor and 4-of-8 from 3-point range. The junior guard made both free throws, dished off a pair of assists and had five steals.

The teams traded baskets early and the Yellowjackets (1-3) held their final lead of the game, 8-7, at the 15:08 mark of the first half. Keegan Dickson erased the lead with back-to-back baskets and Keefe layed in a shot off a steal and the Blue Devils led 13-8 at 13:43 of the first.

The Yellowjackets cut the lead to five points, the closest they would get the rest of the way as Stout ran off to an 18 point, 44-26 halftime lead.

Keefe had 13 points at the break and fellow guard Cory Speer had 10 points by halftime, on his way to a career-best 12 points.

Dickson finished the night with a career-best 20 points, dropping in 8-of-15 from the floor and 4-of-7 3-pointers. The 6-foot-5 Dickson also cleared five rebounds and had a blocked shot.

Stout shot 52.6 percent in the first half (20-38) and dropped only slightly for the game, finishing at 50.6 percent (40-79). The Blue Devils drainined 9-of-27 3-pointers with Keefe and Dickson each getting four and Speer one.

John Lahti scored 11 points and Jacob Nordstrom notched a career-best 10 points, matched a career-best seven rebounds and had three blocked shots. The Blue Devils held a convincing 47-28 advantage off the glass.

Tonight's game was the second consecutive game Stout had five players score in double figures.

The Yellowjackets were led by Rafael Monteiro with 15 and Montroy Scott with 11. Superior shot 41.5 percent for the game (22-53) and made 5-of-16 3-pointers. If they held any advantage over the Blue Devils, it was at the free throw line where Superior made 11-of-15, while Stout made 6-of-11.

The Yellowjackets committed 15 turnovers, while Stout committed only five. Stout had 11 steals to the Yellowjackets' one.

Earlier in the evening, the Blue Devil varsity reserve defeated Superior, 73-71.

Stout is off for the Thanksgiving break and return to action, Sunday, Nov. 27 when they travel to Storm Lake, Iowa, to face Buena Vista University.
