UW-Stout 2, UW-Platteville 0
MENOMONIE (October 22, 2016) - UW-Stout scored goals in both halves and
Lynn Johnson recorded her third shutout of the season as the Blue Devils downed WIAC foe UW-Platteville, 2-0, Saturday at Nelson Field on Senior Day.
Freshman
Ryanne Millis got things started for the Blue Devils (6-8-1, 3-2-0 WIAC), taking a pass from
Bethany Hennen in the 23rd minute and blasting it into the upper opposite corner.
Neither team had a lot of shots, with Stout holding a 10-7 advantage, and a 4-3 advantage on net. The Blue Devil defense did make it sticky for Platteville (6-10-0, 1-5-0 WIAC) as the Blue Devils held a 6-0 advantage in corner kicks.
Stout got on the board again in the 67th minute when senior
Kelly Conn settled a
Sydney Kasper pass and hit the opposite corner of the net.
Johnson finished with three saves, while Platteville goalie Alyssa Sickler had two saves.
Stout will be at Minnesota-Morris, Sunday, Oct. 23 before closing the home portion of the regular season Wednesday, Oct. 26 when they host UW-La Crosse at 7 p.m.
