UW-Stout 2, UW-Oshkosh 1 (OT)
OSHKOSH (October 15, 2016) -
Sarah Todey scored with about six minutes remaining to send the game into overtime and
Sydney Kasper scored five minutes into the first overtime to give UW-Stout a 2-1 win over UW-Oshkosh Saturday at JJ Keller Field.
The Titans (7-6-1, 2-2-0 WIAC) got on the board first with AJ Jackson scored unassisted from about 15 yards out seconds before the first half ended to give Oshkosh a 1-0 lead at the break.
The Blue Devils (5-7-1, 2-2-0 WIAC) outshot the Titans 22-13 overall and 10-6 on frame, but could not pierce the plane of the net until the 84th minute.
Sarah Todey took a pass from
Sarah Dickmann and Todey shot the ball from about 30 yards out to tie the score at 1-1.
Ryanne Millis got a shot on net off with just over a minute remaining in regulation.
The freshman Millis got a wide shot off early in the overtime period. Two minutes later, Kasper took the pass from senior
Kelly Conn and scored from 10 yards out in the 95th minute of the contest to give Stout their first win over the Titans since 1-0 win during the 2011 season.
The win also gives the Blue Devils a three game winning streak and evens their conference record.
Stout will host Gustavus Adolphus College Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. and UW-Platteville, Saturday, Oct. 22.
