TV 18 HighlightsMENOMONIE (January 30, 2016) - UW-Stout never owned a lead in their second meeting with UW-Eau Claire. The Blugolds opened the game on an 11-0 run and Stout couldn't find the offense to make a comeback, and the Blue Devils lost, 78-57 Saturday at Johnson Fieldhouse. The Blue Devils were led by
Jalen Patterson who scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Johnson Fieldhouse was packed for this rivalry game. Eau Claire stepped on the gas early in the first half, making three straight three pointers to open the game. Stout was finally on the board after a layup by
Sam Ortmann. This nine point deficit was the smallest for the Blue Devils. The first half ended in a wide margin 42-19, Eau Claire on top.
The second half was not much different. The Blue Devils made a small dent in the Eau Claire lead in the final three minutes making the final score 78-57.
Patterson was the only Blue Devil in double-digits.
Brandyn Christman was next in line to Patterson, scoring eight points.
Eau Claire had three players scoring double-figures, George Diekelman had 17, Tyson Kalien had 15 and Chris Duff added 12.
Stout will head to UW-La Crosse in their next game to face the Eagles Feb. 3 for a 7 p.m. tip.
