University of LaVerne 3, UW-Stout 1LA VERNE, Calif (September 5, 2015) -
Ashley Pratt (So, Lakeville, Minn) recorded 13 kills in both contests as UW-Stout split a pair of games in the final game of the Pacific Coast Classic at the University of LaVerne Saturday. The Blue Devils defeated Whittier College, 3-1, in the first contest, but dropped the final game by the identical 3-1 score to host LaVerne.
Three Blue Devils (5-1) recorded double-digit kills in the opener with Whittier College on their way to a 25-17, 25-17, 22-25, 25-19, win. Pratt was matched by
Carly Troudt (So, Lino Lakes, Minn) with 13 kills and
Molly Brion (Sr, Cameron) added 10 kills.
In the final contest, Pratt was the only Stout player to reach double digits in kills. Brion, Troudt and
Kennedy Strain (Fr, Elk River, Minn) each had nine kills against LaVerne. Strain also had four total blocks in the contest.
Pratt and Troudt were named to the all-tournament team.
Stout returns to Menomonie where they will face Augsburg College, Wednesday, Sept. 9 in the home opener at 7 p.m. Stout will be at the Loras College Invitational, Sept. 11-12.
