Archived VideoMENOMONIE (April 26, 2015) - UW-Stout never led in either game as UW-Oshkosh swept a pair of games from the Blue Devils, 4-2, 8-5, Sunday at Nelson Field. The Titans ran out to a 4-0 lead in game one before Stout scored in the seventh innings and the Titans took a 3-0 lead before Stout go on the board in the fourth inning in game two.
In the opener, Robby Kleman doubled in a run to put the Titans (20-14, 10-10 WIAC) on the board first. The Titans added a run in the fourth innin, then put up two truns in the fifth inning on RBIs by Logan Reckert and Kleman for a 4-0 lead.
Stout (16-17, 4-14 WIAC) got on the board in the seventh inning with a lead-off home run by
Charlie Meyer,, Stout scored their final run of the game inthe bottom of the ninth when
Ryan Connor drove in
Nick Nalbach, who had drawn a one-out walk.
In the second game, Oshkosh took a 3-0 lead with two runs in the third on Jacob Pohlman's two-run double.
Jake Johnson brought home Connor, who had doubled, in the fourth inning to cut the lead to 3-1. The Titans took the score back up to three runs with a single run in the fifth. Stout cut the lead to 4-2 when Nalbach drove in Austin Littman in the bottom of the fifth.
The Titans scored three runs in the seventh, getting two runs on Kleman's double. Stout got two of those runs back in the bottom of the seventh on
Jack Schneider's two run single. Both teams scored a run in the eighth inning.
Stout used five pitchers in the contest.
Jacob Frederick worked the final two innings, giving up one hit.
Stout will be at UW-Superior, Wednesday, April 29, then will close out the season when they host UW-Whitewater, Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3.
