John Lahti was perfect from the floor and scored a career-high 16 points as UW-Stout, shooting 54 percent as a team, defeated the University of Dubuque, 82-74, Tuesday.
Lahti drained all six of his field goals and was 4-of-5 from the line to lead the Blue Devils to their third win of the season. Lahti also pulled down six rebounds.
The Blue Devils (3-4) got a balanced scoring attack, with
John Keefe scoring 14 points,
Jalen Patterson 10 and
Sam Ortmann and
Brandyn Christman nine each.
Stout needed all of their points to offset a 34-point effort by the Spartans' Andre Norris, who led all scorers with 34 points. Jacob Mohlis added 16 points and Deonte Newsome 12. The Spartans, who were picked to win the IIAC, dropped their record to 4-3.
The Blue Devil defense held the Spartans to one field goal in the last 5:17 until Norris' 3-pointer with 0.5 seconds left.
Stout won the battle off the glass, pulling down 39 boards to 28 for the Spartans. Dubuque's Norris had 12 rebounds. Stout got nine boards from guard

The Blue Devils shot 54.7 percent from the field, hitting 29-of-53 shots and scoring 9-of-25 from 3-point range. Dubuque shot 40.3 percent from the field, hitting 27-of-67 shots.
Stout will close out the first semester of play when they host the University of Northwestern, Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m.
