UW-Superior 79, UW-Stout 71 (Box Score)S
UPERIOR (December 1, 2015) - UW-Superior went on a 10-0 run late in the first half to take an eight point lead and UW-Stout could never catch up as the Yellowjackets went on to a 79-71 win Tuesday at Mertz Mortorelli Gymnasium.
The Blue Devils (2-3) took a 28-26 lead with 5:39 remaining in the first half when the Yellowjackets (1-3) scored 10 straight points, keyed by Zach Schradle's seven points in the run.
Schradle would be a stinger in the Blue Devils' side all night, going on to score a game-high 33 points, never leaving the floor. Schradle was 9-of-13 from the fleld, nailed all five of his 3-point attempts, hit 10-of-15 free throws, had eight rebounds, five assists and four steals.
Stout would get as close as five points, 52-47, when
Sam Ortmann (So, Buffalo, Minn) drained a 3-pointer at 13:02, but that would be it.
John Keefe (So, Medford) would lead Stout for the second consecutive game, dropping in 26 points, coming on the heels of a 22 point effort his last time out. Keefe was 8-of-18 from the floor, 6-of-13 from beyond the arc and perfect at the free throw line in four attempts.
Jalen Patterson (So, Lauderdale, Minn) scored in double figures for the second consecutive game, finishing with 14 points.
Colton Williams (So, Columbia Heights, Minn) added 10 points. Ortmann dropped in two 3-pointers for six points.
Brian Lindblom added 15 points for the Yellowjackets and recorded eight rebounds.
Stout returns to Johnson Fieldhouse to host Buena Vista University, Saturday, Dec. 5 at 4 p.m.
