MENOMONIE (October 3, 2015) - UW-Oshkosh scored in the first 10 minutes of the game and went on to make the goal stand up as the Titans defeated UW-Stout, 1-0, on Homecoming Saturday at Nelson Field.
Christina Mauthe took the low shot from about 15 yards out and found the opposite bottom corner of the net in the ninth minute of the game.
The loss was Stout's second conference loss, as the Blue Devils fell to 6-3-2 overall, 2-2-0 in the WIAC. The Titans improved to 7-2-0, 2-0-0 in the WIAC.
The game was relatively even throughout, with the Titans holding a 12-9 overall advantage in shots. Stout's
Paige Meyer (Sr, Beldenville) recorded four saves, while her Oshkosh counterpart, Nina Muzi, notched three saves.
Stout held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Blue Devils take to the road for the next two weeks. Stout steps out of conference play Tuesday, Oct. 6 when they travel to Hamline University, then will be at UW-La Crosse, Saturday, Oct. 10.
