UW-Oshkosh 94, UW-Stout 72OSHKOSH (January 31, 2015) - UW-Oshkosh ran all over UW-Stout Saturday at Kolf Sports Center on their way to a 94-72 win over the Blue Devils.
The Titans (12-7, 6-4 WIAC), winners of four of their last five games, used a 33-8 run to end the first half to surge to a 47-21 halftime lead over the Blue Devils (3-17, 0-11 WIAC). The Blue Devils actually won the second half ot the game, outscoring the Titans 51-47 after intermission. But the 26-point deficit was too much to overcome.
Stout shot 28.1 percent (9-32) from the floor in the first half, but turned things around in the second half, shooting 51.6 percent (16-31) in the second half to finish shooting 39.7 percent (25-63) for the game. The Titans were just plain steady througout the game, finishing the day hitting 53.1 percent (34-64) for the game, 53.3 percent (16-30) in the first half, 52.9 percent (18-34) in the second half.
The Titans' Alex Olson led all scorers with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Olson notched 19 points in the first half. Kyle Bolger added 11 points.
Jarvis Ragland (Sr, Milwaukee) scored his fourth double-double of the season for the Blue Devils, finishing with 21 points, after being held to two points in the first half. Ragland pulled down a team-best 10 rebounds.
Jalen Patterson (Fr, Lauderdale, Minn) contributed 13 points for Stout and
Sam Ortmann (Fr, Buffalo, Minn) tossed in 10 points.
The Titans held a 44-36 advantage off the glass. The Titans hit nine 3-pointers to four for Stout. Both teams were pedestrian from the line, Stout hitting 18-of-29 (62.1 percent),while the Titans were 17-of-27 (63.0 percent).
Stout returns to Johnson Fieldhouse for their next two games, hosting UW-La Crosse, Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. and UW-River Falls, Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.
