UW-Platteville 65, UW-Stout 55PLATTEVILLE (January 24, 2015) - It seems as if every time UW-Stout would get within striking range, UW-Platteville would have an answer and stretch the lead back up to near double-digits and the Pioneers went on to a 65-55 win Saturday at Bo Ryan Court.
The Blue Devils, after trailing 27-19 at halftime, several times pulled to within four points, the Pioneers (12-6, 5-4 WIAC) would go off on a mini-run and keep Stout (5-13, 3-6 WIAC) at bay.
The Pioneers held a big advantage off the glass, pulling down 45 rebounds to Stout's 30.  Platteville also held an advantage at the free throw line, knocking down 15-of-19 freebies, while Stout hit 8-of-18.
Stout was led by 
Jenna Goldsmith (So, St. Anthony, Minn), who scored 16 points, one point under her career-best. 
Kyleigh Hebert (Jr, Spencer) added 10 points.
The Pioneers' Alyssa Krajco matched Goldsmith's 16 points, as did Stacy Clark. Mykaela Brandt added 10 points. Taylor Lorbiecki pulled down 11 rebounds, all defensive boards.
Stout will host UW-Eau Claire, Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. and UW-Oshkosh, Saturday, Jan. 31 at 3 p.m.
